On Kate's birthday we were snowed in with 7+ inches of snow and school's were closed. I think Kate would have preferred to have school, since she seemed a bit bored, but perked up when Brandon came over and Grandma Bonnie surprised her with a visit. By dinner time she was having fun and after dinner we drove her up to the local convenience store so she could buy her very first lottery tickets. However, she was bummed when she wasn't carded.
I made clam linguini, garlic bread, and a field green and arugula salad for dinner. Kate requested a chocolate cake with vanilla icing and we paired it with her favorite mint chocolate chip Breyer's ice cream.
It was a lovely, low key birthday and Kate complimented dinner (twice) so I think she liked it!
Happy birthday, dearest girl. We love you bunches!
