I found a recipe for snow ice cream off of the internet and decided to make it today with the kids. It turned out well (but cold) and it seems to be similar in texture and flavor to Dairy Queen's soft serve. We served ours with birthday sprinkles, naturally!
Theo, Georgia, and I trekked out to get some fresh snow and then the rest of the group helped stir everything together. Even Kate woke up (11 am) to come down and try it with us.
Recipe:
1 cup of whipping cream
1/2 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon vanilla pudding
6 cups of clean snow
1. Blend all ingredients and 3 cups of the snow together in large bowl.
2. Cover bowl and place outside in the snow for 30 minutes.
3. Mix in an additional 3-4 cups of snow to make the ice cream.
