We had a few years worth of snow this past week. Temperatures were in the mid twenties and we measured (after the rain and thawing started) ten inches on our back patio. I would easily guess that it snowed a foot at our house. Thankfully we didn't lose power~like the other 273,000 residents of our state~and we stayed warm and dry.
We spent each day sledding with the kids, baking, celebrating Kate's birthday, playing Fruit Ninja with Georgia, board games, and watching movies. Jon even made an igloo big enough to fit Kate that is still in our yard, six days later.
My mom flew in to surprise Kate on her birthday on the only day of the week when the airport wasn't closed or on a restricted schedule. She was lucky that she made it in when she did, sandwiched between two storms!
Our week went by quickly and we felt so fortunate to have power. Our ritual at dinner is to go around the table and say what we are thankful for. Each night, without fail, someone mentioned how grateful we were to have power and be warm.
